How to cite a table?

To cite a table, you can use two methods.  

Method 1: 

  1. Click ‘Cite now’ option in the table or from the queries tab or the notification. 

 

  1. After clicking 'Cite Now’, you'll see a notification outlining how to cite a table.  

 

  1. Click on the desired location within the text to cite the table and click 'Insert.' 

 

  1. The screenshot below depicts the view after citing a table. 

 

Note: The table will automatically appear after the table citation. 

Method 2:  

  1. Click on the desired location within the text to cite the table and click 'Insert’ menu from the toolbar. 

 

  1. Click ‘Citation’ option which thereby opens a pop-up containing all the objects including cited and uncited tables. 

 

  1. Select ‘Direct’ or ‘Indirect’ citation option from the dropdown.     
  2. Direct citation types (without brackets) are used in the beginning of the sentence and indirect citations (with brackets) are used in the end of the sentence.

  1. You can add multiple table citations by clicking the specific tables. 

 

 

 

  1. Click ‘Save and close’ to cite the table in a desired position.
