When will the article will be released automatically upon user action?

Step 1: Sign off the article from Typesetter check to Author review stage.

Step 2: Put the article on hold

Step 3: Then try to access the paper using the link that sent on email. 

Step 4: Check the dashboard to see whether the article got released or not. 

Step 5: It should be released.
