How to insert a new reference?
- To insert a new reference, click anywhere on the paragraph.
- Click ‘Insert’ and select ‘References’.
- Select any of the three options below and enter the respective IDs or values.
- DOI
- PubMed
- Paste entire reference- copy/paste complete bibliographic details.
- Partial reference
‘DOI’
- Click ‘Next’ to search for the reference.
- Reference information is searched against PubMed and Crossref and the fields are populated.
- All the fields will be marked automatically.
- Any fields marked as ‘Untagged’ can be assigned to specific fields from the drop-down options listed or deleted.
- You can add new fields or delete the existing fields by clicking ‘×’ and ‘+’ icons.
- The preview of the reference will be displayed at the top.
- Click ‘Insert reference’ to insert the reference which will be styled automatically as per the guidelines.
- The below screenshot depicts the view after adding the new reference.
