How to add new author information?

  • To add a new author to the existing list, click ‘Add author’ button. 

 
  • The comprehensive list of required fields for author details includes, 

    • ORCID ID 

    • Prefix  

    • First name and surname 

    • Role 

    • On behalf of  

    • Deceased 

    • Collaboration 

    • Author bio 

    • Correspondence details 

    • Affiliation 

    • Contribution details 

    • Group authors 

How to add ORCID of an author? 

  1. ORCID is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. 
  2. To add the ORCID to the existing author, click the author’s name.
  3. Enter the author’s unique ORCID 16-numbers with hyphen in the designated field.
 

How to add the name, prefix, suffix and degree of an author?
  1. Enter the prefix (optional) and full name of the author. 



How to add the role, collaboration and 'on behalf of' details of an author?
  1. Provide the author's designated role by clicking ‘+Add new’, which denotes their responsibility within the affiliation. 
  2. To delete the role, click on ‘Remove’ icon.  
  3. Give ‘On behalf of’ details, when the author represents an organization. 

 

  1. Enter the collaborating organization name if the article involves collaboration. 

 

How to add authorship details of an author? 

  1. Give any of the following authorship details, 
  2. Equal contributor with - All the authors are equally contributed. 
  3. First authorship with - Authors who played primary role in the study. 
  4. Senior authorship with - Authors who, although not directly engaged in the research, offer guidance and mentorship to the research team. 
 
Note: The authorship specification may vary depending on the customer requirements. 

How to add correspondence details of an author? 

  1. Check the box to denote the correspondence author and enter their email ID. 
 
  1. Click ‘+Add new’ button if you want to add new affiliation. 
 
  1. Enter the department, institute name, city, state and country. 
 
  1. Click ‘+Add existing’ to choose the affiliation that is given earlier. 
 
  1. Click on '+Add new' to input a new address or click '+Add existing' to choose the provided affiliation as the current address. 

 

How to add contribution details of an author? 

  1. Check the box to signify the author's contribution to the present study. 



How to add group authors? 

  1. Give the group authors name if the study involved collaborating organization. 
  2. Click ‘Add group member’ to add single member or ‘Add multiple members’ to add multiple authors.

How to add additional details of an author? 

  1. Select the checkbox to indicate the author is deceased and give the respective details. 

 

  1. Enter other information like author’s Twitter, Facebook or website link, if available. 

 

  1. Type or copy/paste the author bio and upload the picture of the author. 

 

How to save the author's details? 

  1. Click ‘Save author’ to save author details. 
  2. The screenshot below depicts the view after adding new author details. 

 

Note: Once saved, the newly added author's name will be outlined in blue, and their affiliation details will be highlighted in dark blue.
