3. Primary citation:

  1. Usually, the citation of equation mentioned at first in the manuscript is considered as primary citation.
  2. The other equations are termed as passing citations which will be sequentially ordered depending on the primary citation.

4. Skip a citation:

  1. If we include a citation for Equation 3 between citations of Equation 1 and Equation 2, the order of equations will change accordingly.
  2. Consequently, the positions of the equation in the manuscript will change, as the equations are placed directly after their respective citations.
  3. To prevent this, the 'Skip a citation' option allows us to skip the citation of the equation in between, thus maintaining the equation positions.

Note: Check whether all the equations are cited/ marked as passing citation before using ‘Skip a citation’ option.
