How to invite reviewers?
- Here, you can invite the set of reviewers you have identified as ideal candidates.
- To invite a reviewer, click on the 'Invite' option on the Action column of the table. Then, select 'Invite now' from the drop-down menu
- After selecting 'Invite now,' a pop-up with a pre-configured email template will appear.
- The email subject contains the manuscript's version, and the context has the abstract, accept/decline invitation link, guidelines etc.
- You can also edit and personalize the email if needed and then click the 'Send' button.
- This will trigger an email to the reviewer presenting them with a review invitation page to accept or decline the invite. If they decline, they will be asked to provide a reason.
- Reviewers are also informed in the email about the review completion deadline they have to complete a review. This is typically anywhere between 1-2 weeks and can be configured based on your publisher’s editorial board policy. Check with your administrator to know or change the configured timelines.
- There is no limit to the number of reviewers you can invite. Check with your publisher for the editorial board policy on the minimum number of reviewers expected to be invited for review.
- As the inviting editor, you will receive automated email notifications for all invites accepted or declined by reviewers.
- All manuscripts undergoing review are present in the ‘Article in review’ stage in the dashboard. Once all reviewers are completed, it would automatically move to the editorial decision lanes (as configured for your workflow)
Note: If you invite the same reviewer again for further revision of the manuscript, the email template will change accordingly. The email subject contains the version of manuscript, and the context contains the summary and comments provided by the reviewers in the previous revision, accept or decline invitation links, guidelines etc.
